Dear Westcountry Schools Trust,
It has been a privilege to collaborate with one of your schools representing the WeST (Ivybridge Community College), a united family of schools, as their NTP (National Tutoring Programme) provider. We align with your fundamental principle of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. While each school maintains its distinct identity, we are united by common values and beliefs that propel us forward. Through collaborative efforts and the sharing of successful strategies, we fortify our commitment to delivering exceptional education for our students. Our online tutoring program is a testament to these principles as we collaborate, develop effective practices, and continuously strive for improvement. With this initiative, our goal is to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers students to excel academically and in all facets of life. We warmly invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we champion our shared values and create a lasting impact on the lives of our students.

Tutoring is here to stay. Our goal is to make sure that state-funded schools can access it so that we don't live in a world where only the rich can afford it, further entrenching the barriers to upward social mobility that were present before the pandemic and have become wildly exacerbated by it.
Let's work together to make sure that we live in a democracy of opportunity.

The Ivybridge Community College Story
Emily Briant
Ivy Bridge
We first met Emily on 22nd Sept 2022, via Teams, as she was keen to discover what Purple Ruler offered with a view to supporting pupils across year groups.
Emily has already had experience of using a NTP Tuition Partner, but felt that they did not meet her expectations. The main issue was the added workload that was required to run a programme, which required content input from her side. What the school needed was a tuition partner that could run the courses with minimal input, and one which could deliver professional academic support to the pupils.
Emily insisted on a Data Agreement with Purple Ruler, which required stringent checks of our data handling, data storage and policies. Once this was reached, we agreed on the course content and schedule, and began working with the pupils in February 2023.
We have had review meetings with Emily to evidence progress and gain feedback from her and the pupils. Both have expressed how positive the experience has been, and attainment levels have risen steadily as the courses have progressed. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Emily, the school, and hopefully the Trust in the future!
