KCSIE & Level 3 Safeguarding Training
All therapists and counsellors undergo regular training on Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, KCSIE guidelines and other related training. This ensures they are equipped to recognise, prevent, and address any signs of harm or abuse in children.
Enhanced DBS & Safer Recruitment Compliance
Every team member has undergone an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. All staff have been hired following Safer Recruitment principles.
Confidentiality: Information Disclosure
Confidentiality is strictly maintained; information shared during therapy is not disclosed to schools or Purple Ruler unless there is a safeguarding concern or the information conflicts with the safeguarding policy.
Confidentiality: Limited Data Access
Records of therapy sessions are accessible only to:
The assigned therapist for session continuity and professional management.
The Head of DSL for safeguarding oversight, when required.

Minimum Requirements for Our Therapists/Counsellor

Certified Therapist or Counsellor
All therapists or counsellors are certified in relevant fields such as Psychotherapy, Counselling, or Psychology.

Relevant Degrees

School or Teaching Experiences
Degree in Psychology or Therapy-related fields ensures that therapists have foundational knowledge in child development, cognitive and behavioural science, and therapeutic techniques.
Therapists have practical experience working in school environments, where they understand the challenges faced by students, educators, and families.
Initial Facilitator Training
Engaging in a two week facilitator training

Prevent Training
Complete internal and .gov.uk Prevent Training course.




Complete safer recruit checks
Pre-deployment and background checks. Including Enhanced DBS with no child barred list check. Sign declarations.
Level 3 Safeguarding Training
Complete SSS L3 Safeguarding training.
Sign Agreements & Policies
Complete and signing necessary agreements and policies upon passing the trainings.
